I migrated to England a decade ago, and I’m very thankful for everything this country has offered me. I came here with nothing but a willingness to change and was able to land a decent job with little experience. Nothing came for free, but the opportunities were there to be taken, for which I’m forever grateful.

I’ve lived in both a major city and a smaller community and have found that people generally are nice and accommodating (even though my wife and I are obvious foreigners from two different countries). I’ve absorbed the parts of the culture that feels natural to me and have left out the parts that doesn’t. I think that’s okay as long as I respect the law of the land and don’t act like an asshole.

It’s a bit sad to hear that you’ve had such a horrible experience with English people. It makes me think that it might say more about you than the millions of people you say you despise.
