I ended up liking those who wanted to engage — their probing questions, their eagerness to explain how beleaguered they felt by the “woke people” and social justice advocates. They believe what they believe as fervently as I believe what I believe. They believe I have been fed false information just as I believe they have been fed false information. I hesitate to classify them all as conservatives since some consider themselves liberals turned off by wokeness or political correctness.
