The whole “whitest thing” shtick means little to a Swede who grew up around Bosnians, Albanians, Hungarians, Romanians etc. We’re all white but have about as much in common culturally as seals and penguins. Our “whiteness” says very little about our backgrounds, sentiments, social statuses, and cultural histories. We’re all individuals. Maybe it’s an American thing… but that shit isn’t EVERYTHING we’re I’m from, luckily.

I didn’t take it personally. I just used myself as an example (as I presumably fit the author’s idea of what a white person is) for why said claim was an overgeneralisation.

It’s not about being offended as a white man, or “making it about us”. I take issue with folks who generalise about a race—any race. E basta.
